GPNS is Looking for a Policy Convener

The executive is seeking candidates for the position of policy co-convenor {male}. To offer for this position please submit a letter of intent, along with a 300 word biography and CV/resume, outlying your experience/ interest or knowledge of Greens policy or relevant information regarding your suitability for this position, to
gpns@greenparty.ns.ca by November 30, 2009.
The voting will take place on December 7, 2009 via an electronic ballot (process to be determined)
Those seeking the executive position of policy co-convenor{male} should have an interest in policy development and some knowledge or interest in different policy areas. The position requires the ability to research, liaise with community and interest groups and GPNS members.
It is important that the candidate have an understanding of the six founding Green principles and that they be prepared to ensure that all GPNS policy adheres to those principles when preparing for presentation for ratification.
The position requires diplomacy, patience and the willingness to listen to many, often conflicting opinions, while maintaining a neutral, professional position. Access to the Internet and basic computer skills are necessary.
Participation in the GPNS executive and policy committee meetings are mandatory activities for the position, however GPNS does conduct meetings electronically, so physical presence not always required.
The policy co-convenor {male} will share the responsibility of researching, developing, preparing and editing draft policies with the co-convenor{female} and with the policy committee.
