In 1989, Barbara graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. After graduation she started a career as a real estate appraiser. In 2005 Barbara worked for the Provincial Government as a Residential Tax Assessor and received formal training in public speaking.

Since 2002 Barbara has been lecturing about the potential health risks associated with exposure to microwave radiation as emitted by cell phones, communication tower antennas, and WI FI networks. She has successfully stopped the construction of communication towers in her neighborhood. In 2003, Barbara became a member of the committee that created a policy/bylaw regarding the siting of towers.

Barbara has been cited in newspapers and interviewed on radio. With the proliferation of towers and antennas, cell phones and WI FI networks, there will be no place in the province where microwaves won’t be polluting the air. With the current governments actions to deliver high speed internet to all Nova Scotian’s, Barbara is making people aware that fiber optic cable networks are much safer and reliable.

Barbara has also been working hard to keep cell phones and WI FI systems out of the schools.

Barbara recently attended a Council meeting and spoke out against the installation of six
Internet towers. She also attended a meeting and spoke about the risks, at a meeting in Lunenburg Co.

In her lectures, Barbara compares the endorsement of wireless technology by the dept. of Health, to that of cigarettes.

Barbara does consultant work to show people what they can do to provide protection from the radiation.

Barbara is proud to represent the Green Party in this current election.
