I was born and raised in Nova Scotia. For the past 31 years I have lived in my owner built log cabin just five Kilometers from the Village of Tatamagouche. I am employed as a Health Care Worker with the VON providing Home Support to clients in the Colchester East Hants area. For 30 years now I have been active in the environmental movement working on issues such as clear cutting, herbicide spraying (roadside, agricultural, power line spraying. I have also been active in the anti-uranium movement, the Peace movement, Gay Rights, diversity issues and anti-poverty struggles.

I have been a community activist since the age of 10. I am also very involved in my Union local as President, shop steward and have served on numerous committees for the past 13 years.  For the past year and one half I have also been organizer and spokesperson for the North Shore Citizen's Health Committee fighting to keep the ER open at our local hospital.

This is the third time I have run for the Green Party: once in the federal election of 2006 and now twice at the provincial level. I feel that by running for the Green Party I am providing an opportunity to people who care about the environment to show their concern by supporting the green movement with their vote. As a candidate for the Green Party I also have an opportunity to keep environmental issues on the political agenda. I believe in a Deep Ecology philosophy, one that recognizes that all living things have the right to exist as sentient beings in their own right and do not exist solely for the economic benefit they may or may not bring to human kind.
