Candidate Name: Amanda Hester
I am a second generation member of the Shambhala Buddhist community in Halifax. Born in Boulder Colorado, I moved to Nova Scotia with my parents when I was 7 years old.
Having lived in both rural Nova Scotia, and also Halifax proper, I have a strong connection to the natural beauty and wealth of the province and its community.
A graduate from Dalhousie University and Kings College, I have an honours degree in Political Science, and have spent the last year as a business consultant for various companies and projects, many of which work with environmental issues and green technology. I have been an advisor for the Provincial leader of the Green Party for the last five months and in that time have been so inspired by the principles of the party that I have decided to become involved as a Greeen candidate for this election.
I feel inspired to help create a government that can better meet the challenging times ahead, with both intelligence and also delight.
